Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)
Close victories stretch you. They make you sweat. We were losing with seconds on the clock. Not the best of situations for sure. I urged my team in the huddle to have faith and believe but even as they broke the huddle I battled doubt and with good reason. We had to inbound the ball on the opposite end of the court, travel 94 feet AND make a 3 point shot all in 2.9 seconds! The girls had fought so hard to win this game, but it seemed we were going to fall short. Fortunately, circumstances do not have to dictate our situations in life. The ball was inbounded and Deana (full of faith) took two dribbles and launched "The Shot". A beautiful last minute heave that seemed to last forever. Rotation, rotation, rotation and swish! Perfection. A forever reminder of victory despite circumstances.
Sometimes our victories in life happen as the time is ticking down. They are close and they make us sweat. But after the fact they are sweet and build our faith. Moses built a monument as a reminder on the banks of the Red Sea after a seemingly impossible victory so that all who who passed that way would be encouraged, regardless of circumstances.
What is your situation? Does it seem impossible? Have you given up? Sweet sister hang on! Faith sees the invisible and believes the impossible. Faith instructs us to obey even when we do not understand. Maybe you are being stretched, but victory is right around the corner. It may look impossible and you may not understand how it can happen. Unfortunately, Hebrews 11 doesnt have a clause that promises an explanation from our Creator. (Sometimes I would even take a quick tweet of 140 characters or less ) But the scripture does compel us to live by faith and and not by feeling. Keep your faith strong and refuse to be swayed by your circumstances. Be willing to be stretched in your battle. Your victory is about to become reality.
